Dr Linda Bird. Senior Project Leader
As a project leader for the TITANIUM project Dr Linda Bird is
developing methods to promote the "Transformation and InTeroperable
Access to eNterprise Information Using Metadata". In particular,
she conducts research in the area of Electronic Health Record
interoperability, using XML and web-based technologies. Linda
was a key member of the analysis and design team for the Brisbane
Southside HealthConnect trial, in which she helped evaluate the
impact of using the openEHR framework as a candidate record architecture
for a national EHR system.
Linda’s other areas of expertise include heterogeneous
databases; Information systems analysis, design and development;
Data modelling, meta-modelling and object-based abstraction
techniques; database reverse engineering / design recovery and
data analysis
Linda Bird graduated with a Bachelor of Information Technology
(First Class Honours) in 1992 from the University of Queensland
and with an overall grade point average of 6.95 (out of 7) was
awarded a University Medal for Academic Excellence. In 1997, Linda
Bird completed her PhD thesis, entitled "Database Reverse
Engineering: From a relational database to a 3-dimensional conceptual
schema", and was awarded her doctorate.
