Because it took over a week to get back to Sydney and the "Governor Phillip " the Govt ship was weeks away from venturing to Brisbane as only Govt ships were allowed into the penal settlement of Brisbane and the Governor Phillip didn't arrive back in Sydney until October 15 th 1831 and Holmes died August 23rd so I can't see them keeping Holmes for that long .Plus there is no indication his remains were returned to Sydney all his belongings were as we have detailed documents of that but no William Holmes.who knows one day we may find William smile emoticon Like · Reply · 2 · January 13 at 9:51pm · Edited Col Johnston Col Johnston In this cemetary were buried the remains of the very early Brisbane occupants including soldiers .Convicts .and settlers and a well known surveyor who was lost on a field trip.Patrick Logan's body was shipped back to Sydney but he was the commandant and a state funeral for him in Sydney Like · Reply · January 13 at 8:30pm David Horton Write a reply...
