DSTC Research is focussed on the specification, interoperability, and management of enterprise information systems both within and between organisations. This enables companies to maximise their IT investment through a whole-of-enterprise approach to knowledge management and service delivery while at the same time interacting with collaborative and competitive external organisations.

DSTC's research program consists of two industry-specific research applications programs in Health and National Security & Defence. These programs are supported by three core research programs - Knowledge, Architecture and Interaction. These programs address common challenges across both industry domains. The outputs of the research programs contribute directly to the research applications programs, and are customised to achieve specific business outcomes.
