A great 203km supported ride with a rating of 6 out of 10

 

 

START : 7:00am 

The ride will start and finish from the Banyo Library. Closest railway station is Banyo

 

PRE RIDE: Entries and bike inspections will be conducted from 6:30 am

 

THE RIDE:  This is considered as a moderate course taking in the country side starting at Banyo:

 

¨       Strathpine à Caboolture à Bellmere à Wamuran (1st Checkpoint @ 65km)

¨       Woodford à Stanmore à Beerwah (2nd checkpoint @ 112km)

¨       Beerburrum à Caboolture à Burpengary (3rd Checkpoint @ 160km)

¨       Deception Bay à Redcliffe à Sandgate à Banyo (Finish @ 203km)

 

SUPPORT: I’ll be providing water and food at all the checkpoints and I’ll be able to collect anyone that pulls out.

 

RULES : As a Audax 200km, the official finish time is after dark therefore a rider must —

¨       have a 2 independent front and 2 independent rear efficient lights attached to the bicycle (from the start of the ride);

¨       have those lights switched on at all times of darkness or low visibility;

¨       carry sufficient batteries to last the duration of the ride (unless the lights on the rider’s bicycle are powered by a dynamo) and a spare bulb for each light (other than LED lights).; and

¨       at all times of darkness or low visibility a rider must wear a reflective vest or bandolier . Reflective ankle bands are also  recommended.

 

EQUIPMENT:  Your bicycle must be in roadworthy condition and it is suggested that you carry a spare tube and basic tools to effect any repairs. An approved bicycle helmet must be worn at all times. As the weather should be sunny, sunscreen should be applied to exposed areas and each rider should be prepared to carry sufficient food and water to get through the ride.

ENTRY FEES: $15.00 for Audax members, $20.00 for non members, Late fee on the day $5.  Commemorative patches can be purchased by riders that complete the course at a cost of $5.  Please make cheques payable to Audax Queensland.
