Earlier projects were IC383 and IC383.1 - these were precursors to
the setting up of the Ipswich Global Info
Links (GIL). Some aspects of IC549 were about
enhancements to GIL.

During IC549 we learnt quite a lot about
broadband (in Australia & overseas) and about
high band width / future Internet services.
We got some newspaper publicity.
