Additional_Info : STEP-BY-STEP Instructions
1. Create public_html directory (folder)
Unix users:
mkdir $HOME/public_html
chmod o+rx $HOME/public_html
Mac Users:
Open your home folder on citron
Create a new folder called:
public_html
Note:
You may need to get a unix user to verify
that this folder can be read by all CiTR
PC Users:
Open your home directory on home
Create a new directory called:
public_html
Note:
You may need to get a unix user
to verify that this directory
can be read by all CiTR
2. Copy the template into public_html
Open
the template with your web browser.
From the File Menu,
select Save as ...
Save the document in your public_html
directory (folder) with the name
index.html.
Note:
You may need to get a unix user to verify
that this file can be read by all CiTR
3. Edit this file using your favourite
editor or word processor.
Replace any
... with the
appropriate text.
You may delete sections that are not
appropriate, or add additional sections
if you wish.
Note:
The template contains instructions and
helpful hints.
If you are using an html
enabled word processor, you may not be
able to see these instructions.
You can view these instructions with
your web browser by opening the template
and then, from the View Menu,
select Document Source.
4. View your new home page and correct as needed.
From your web browser open the CiTR
home page. Select About CiTR,
Staff Directory,
and then your name.
After any change to your home page you
will need to press the Reload
button in order to view the changes.
Collections:
Click on
to return to the Repository home page.
