Rosevale Methodist relocated memorials, Boonah Shire

Address: Corner of Aratula-Rosevale road and C. Zahnow Road, Rosevale, Boonah Shire. (Across road from telephone exchange, on corner with main road).
Opened: approx. 1898
# graves: 7
This appears to be a collection of relocated headstones as the memorials are placed to close together to be graves. They are at the front of a separately fenced field that may have once housed a church (speculation).

The Rosevale Methodist Church opened in 1887 (or 1884) on land gifted by Mr and Mrs Brewer. The church was demolished in October 1960.

The site of the Methodist Church on the corner of C Zahnow road is marked only by five headstones. The 3/4 acre block of land was donated by Jack Christensen to the Methodists - a testament to the support shown by neighbours in the early days as jack was a staunch of the Church of Christ. When the Methodist congregation dwindled and it was decided to close the church (it was moved to Harrisville) the Boonah parish decided to shift the headstones to the site of the block and sell the land. The graves were not moved - only the headstones.
