Robert OWENS was born 1830 at Ffestiniog, Merioneth, Wales. He arrived in Australia in 1859. Robert purchased 24 acres at the junction of the Bremer and Brisbane Rivers at Moggill. He purchased a further 49 acres adjacent to his first purchase. Today the farm he worked is known as “Myora Park”.

Elizabeth DAVIES was born 1842 at Bangor, Carnarvon, Wales. She arrived in Australia in 1864. Robert and Elizabeth were married in Brisbane on 10 September, 1864.
They had nine children:

Jane Elizabeth	Mary Ellen	David	Catherine

Hugh (twin)	Margaret (twin)	William Robert

Mary Ellen and David died in their early teens and were buried in Moggill Cemetery.

After Robert’s death on 22 January 1892, Elizabeth carried on the farm with her family until she passed away on 10 February 1899.

By the turn of the century the family had left Moggill to live in Booval and Silkstone, in the Ipswich District.

William joined the Australian Forces and fought in the Boer War. He returned from the war and settled in Silkstone.
