An initiative of Ipswich City Council
Five Trustees were appointed on 1 June 1894 and on 15 September 1894 this site was proclaimed as a reserve for a cemetery. The first burial was Henry Collins on March 1906. The Queensland Government owns the land and trustees maintain the cemetery.
