Michael Lawley holds a Ph.D. from Griffith University in Brisbane in the area of integrity constraint checking for object-oriented databases and a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science from The University of Melbourne.

Currently Dr Lawley is a Project Leader for the Pegamento Project at the Cooperative Research Centre for Enterprise Distributed Systems Technology (DSTC Pty Ltd), Brisbane, Australia.

His expertise includes in-depth experience with DCE, multi-database technology, transaction processing, CORBA, J2EE, JDBC and ODBC, workflow and event notification technology.

In addition, Dr Lawley has expertise in Web technology (web servers, CGI, Servlets and JSP), Java, web access to databases, XML, transactional workflows and Z39.50.
